The name Kapil Sharma inadvertently brings a smile to almost everyone who has seen him perform his antics on screen. The comedian and actor is naturally gifted to make the young and old laugh to their hearts content. The Kapil Sharma Show host is now all set to take on a non-comedy project soon. He has signed filmmaker and renowned actress Nandita Das’ next directorial to play the lead. She has previously directed the critically acclaimed Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer biographical drama, Manto.

The yet to be titled film has been co-produced by Das along with Sameer Nair of Applause Entertainment. Nandita and Kapil have been in talks for this project for a while now and are super excited to work with each other. Considering the different backgrounds they come from, the collaborating film is bound to create fireworks. Das has previously helmed the 2008 political-drama, Firaaq, while Kapil has played lead in Abbas-Mustan’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and Rajiv Dhingra’s Firangi. He will soon be seen making his OTT debut in a comedy special.
