Bollywood filmmaker Kiran Rao began her exciting journey into Bollywood with the Aamir Khan starrer Lagaan. Her maiden directorial was Dhobi Ghat and now after nearly 11 years, she is returning to direction with the upcoming film ‘Laapataa Ladies’. The film stars Sparsh Shrivastava, Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam. 

Although the makers haven’t revealed the story of the film but it is reportedly set in 2001 where two newly wed brides get lost in a train journey. The role of the two  actresses will be played by two new actresses. The first teaser of Laapataa Ladies will be shown in cinemas with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions. It’s script is inspired by the story penned by Biplab Goswami.
