Based on the inspiring life story of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim the much trailer movie Maidaan is finally here. Maidaan features Ajay Devgn in the lead role playing the motivational character of Syed Abdul Rahim. The movie is all set to release in theatres on the occasion of Eid in April.

Based on one of the chapters from Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim's life story Maidaan is set during the golden era of Indian football which is 1952 to 1962. Syed Abdul Rahim was the legendary football coach who was popularly known as Rahim Saab. His passion towards football made him a great sports man and even a greater teacher. Under his guidance the Indian football team went on to win gold medals in Asian games. This team also played the semi finals of the Summer Olympics (This achivement made India to become India to become first ever Asian country to reach at the semifinalis at Summer Olympics).

Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor. Along with Ajay Devgn maidan also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, Rudranil Ghosh and Chaitnya Sharma. The movie will be out in theatres on 10th April.
