Director
Neeraj Pandey, known for his treasure hunt in Saat Uchakkey, is yet again back
with a Diamond Heist, this time with Sikandar Ka Muqaddar on Netflix. One of
the most anticipated crime thrillers this season, it will be released on
November 29, 2024.
The trailer
launch event held in Mumbai saw the presence of Director Neeraj Pandey, along
with actors Jimmy Shergill, Tamannaah Bhatia, Avinash Tiwary and Rajiv Mehta. The
trailer delivered a gripping narrative starring Jimmi Shergill as a relentless
Police officer Jaswinder Singh in a pursuit to solve a Diamond Heist. Based on his
Moolvriti (instincts) Jaswinder investigates a diamond theft zeroing down
against his three suspects - Sikandar Sharma (Avinash Tiwari), Kamini Singh (
Tamannaah Bhatia) and Mangesh Desai (
Rajiv Mehta).
The trailer
launch itself created a thrill for the audience present, with a live stunt.
Shergill's character, Jaswinder, smashed his suspect Sikandar into a full-sized
mirror, which gave a peep into the kind of thrill the film promises.
Talking
about what makes the film different in captivating the audiences, Director
Neeraj Pandey says, “As a storyteller, I always look forward to bringing something
intriguing, thrilling and engaging to the audiences and we hope they will love this
film as much as we enjoyed making the film with all the crew, which will keep
them engaged till the climax,”
Rachikaa
Kapoor Shaikh calls Sikander Ka Muqaddar an exciting cat-and-mouse game with a lot
of twists and turns to keep the audiences hooked to the edges of their seats. The
film explores complex human behaviours, deceptive characters and shades to
explore justice and survival with masterful storytelling by Neeraj Pandey, all
set to intrigue the audience about who is the real culprit!”
While Jimmy Shergill looked dapper in his beard, he enthralled the audience with the
dialogue, “ Teri biopic ka title hai Sikandar Ka Muqaddar jiska director hoon
main.”
Talking
about working with Neeraj Pandey again says, Neeraj has been an old friend, it
was a pleasure working with him. I read the script, discussed and then we worked
on the dialogues. We all worked hard to give those long shots, which has its
mood. I hope the audiences would love
the film and am inquisitive about how they will connect the dots as the mystery
and the plot unveils on 29th November.”
Tamannaah
talks about playing a transformative less glamorous character, and says, “This
role was different because I am mostly put to do romantic roles, although I
have done serious roles in South. This role allowed me to step out of my
comfort zone, while my character is vulnerable, yet unfolds a lot of strength.
I enjoyed working with Avinash as a co-star who is a very effortless actor.”
Avinash
talking about his stint working with the ace director says, “It was a go-with-the-flow
kind of experience to work with Neeraj Pandey who’s always on a go and takes
quick decisions. It’s a very focused set and we had many long steady shots in
the film, which the audience will love.”
Rajiv
reminiscing one of the shots while he was in the middle of a thought process
tells how Neeraj Pandey gave him the freedom of expression to do the lines, and
concluded.
