In showbiz where relationships are fragile, holding on to it is the toughest thing to do. With so many marriages having crumbled, yet another one to be added to that list is that of Atrangi Re actor Dhanush and his wife of 18 years Aishwaryaa. In an official statement the actor shared, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting... Today we stand at a place where our paths separate... Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. This news has shocked Dhanush’s fans who thought theirs was a rock solid marriage. Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwaryaa too shared the same statement and also added, “Much love always to you all :) God speed. Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth." In  the post, she also wrote, "No caption needed…only your understanding n your love necessary!”

Dhanush and Aishwaryaa got married in November 2004 and are parents to two boys Yatra and Linga. The actor has worked in his wife’s directorial debut 3 and also sung the song ‘Kolaveri D’ which was a huge hit. He was last seen in the Akshay Kumar starrer Atrangi Re.
