Three years after it’s announcement in 2019, the biographical feature film ‘Padma Shri Kaur Singh’ will finally release this year. The film tells the tale of India’s forgotten boxing champion Kaur Singh. For the unversed, Singh was the only Indian boxer to have entered the boxing ring to fight against world renowned boxing legend Muhammed Ali in 1980.

Singh was honored with the Arjuna Award in 1982 and the Padma Shri in 1983. However as the years passed, he lost faith in sports and stayed away from it. Makers of Padma Shri Kaur Singh are bringing us this story of strength, determination, struggle and his life, with this biographical film on the boxer. The film stars Karam Batth, Raj Kakra, Baninder Bunny, Prabh Grewal, Malkeet Rauni, Gurpreet Bhangu and Sukhi Chahal.

Makers have shared the title poster of Padma Shri Kaur Singh which depicts a burning gold medal from the Asian Games with the caption ‘A story that waited 37 years to unfold’. The film will finally release on 8th July 2022.
