To Commemorate the legendary Showman of Indian cinema Raj Kapoor's Centenary celebrations this year on December 14th, the Kapoor family met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invite him at the Raj Kapoor's Film Festival.

After meeting the Kapoor Family Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested that they should take the legacy of showman forward by making a documentary on his international 'Soft Power'.

PM Modi Said," Raj Kapoor's 100th birthday is an important milestone of India cinema's golden journey. It began with 1947's 'Neel Kamal' and we are on course to 2047. It is such a contribution to the country when we look back at this journey of 100 years.

Prime Minister Modi met Raj Kapoor’s grandchildren and other members of the family, including daughter Reema Jain, Neetu Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor in New Delhi.

The Kapoor family have decided to celebrate the occasion in a grand way with the Raj Kapoor Film Festival wherein many of his films are re-releasing in cinemas. Ranbir Kapoor has taken an initiative to showcase his grandfather Raj Kapoor's films along with his uncle Kunal Kapoor in collaboration NFDC, NFAI,Film and Heritage Foundation.
