Well known Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot by unknown assailants on Sunday in the Jawaharke village of Mansa district. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival. The shocking event happened a day after the singer’s security was withdrawn along with 423 other VIPs by the Bhagwant Mann government's exercise to put an end on VIP culture.

Sindhu’s assassination has sent shock waves through the Punjabi film and music industry. The heinous crime was blatantly done in broad daylight. Sindhu was not popular in the entertainment industry but also well known in politics. He had joined the Congress Party and also contested at the Punjab assembly election. 

Moose Wala had a massive fan following and they offered their last respects to the singer on twitter and other social media pages. One Twitter user wrote, “This is absolutely devastating & shocking 💔, R.I.P #SidhuMoosewala 🙏🏻 #RIP.” Bollywood stars like Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh too expressed their shock on his death. Mourning his death Singh wrote, “Dil da ni mada…” Devgn wrote, “Stunned by the shocking death of #SidhuMoosewala. May Waheguru give his loved ones strength in their hour of grief. RIP departed soul 🙏 Still trying to wrap my head around this one.”
