After giving us brilliant period dramas one after another, Bollywood filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker is all set to dabble in the action genre. His next will star Farhan Akhtar and Rakul Preet Singh will be his leading lady. This is the first time the duo will be seen sharing screen space in a film together. The film will be produced by Excel Entertainment. The film is reportedly titled Pukar and will be set in a forest. 

As per reports, Farhan will essay the role of a forest ranger dedicated to guarding and patrolling it. The film will most likely go on floors early this December. Rakul meanwhile is currently busy with her film Chhatriwali and will join in after she completes that shoot. The film will also star South star Jagapathi Babu as the antagonist. It will mark his debut into Bollywood as the parallel lead opposite Farhan Akhtar. This will be an important film for Excel as it will not only be mounted on a large scale but mark the comeback of Javed Akhtar as a story and screenplay writer after many years.
