Bollywood ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s projects have always been the tipping point of conversations and intrigue. The way he shapes each character in his movies and develops the plot is commendable. While his fans are still eagerly awaiting the release of Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi, the director has announced another. The film in question is a remake of a classic, Baiju Bawra. While there were a lot of speculations about who will play the lead after Ranbir Kapoor walked out of the project, it is now confirmed that his Padmaavat actor Ranveer Singh will bring the character to life. 

Ranbir Kapoor was SLB’s first choice of course but things didn’t seem to work out between the two and there were several creative differences. The Sanju made his debut in the filmmaker’s movie Saawariya. It is said that the actor had a tough time pleasing the director and was hesitant working with him again. The next choice was Kartik Aaryan but that didn’t fall in place either. Ranveer and Bhansali have worked in several movies before including Bajirao Mastani, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Padmaavat, all of which did exceptionally well. Expectations will be high for Baiju Bawra as well.
