Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara having made a huge global Impact is soon to be back with its much-awaited sequel Kantara Chapter 1, scheduled to release in October 2025.

Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur, under Hombale Films Kantara Chapter 1 is an upcoming Indian Kannada-language period action thriller film set during the reign of Kadambas of Banavasi. The film is a sequel to the 2022 film Kantara, which stars Rishab Shetty and Jayaram in the lead roles.

The sequel is all set to captivate the audiences with its narrative, cinematography and stunning visuals, which is being shot at one of the biggest studios in Kundapur. The film shooting has begun since November 2023. Shooting this massive project has been quite a task as the filmmakers have faced hurdles in finding a suitable studio as per the scale of the film for creating the massive sets of the Kadamba empire.

According to sources, the production had to construct India’s biggest studios in the coastal town of Kundapur, Karnataka provided the perfect backdrop to create the ancient township of the Kadamba Empire for the historical epic.
