After giving us an impressive film like Anandi Gopal, Marathi filmmaker Sameer Vidwans is all set to surprise his fans once more by making a film on India’s first female teacher Savitribai Phule. The film is titled ‘Mahatma’ is based on the lady , who was not only an imparter of knowledge  but also a social reformer and a great poet. On the same date that she disappeared years ago, the filmmaker has announced his film based on her life. The director shared the motion title of the film on his social media page and wrote, “क्रांतीसूर्य ज्योतिराव फुले आणि क्रांतीज्योती सावित्रीबाई फुले ह्यांचे ऋण आपण कधीच फेडू शकणार नाही. सावीत्रीबाईंच्या स्मृतीस वंदन करून सांगू पाहतोय.. अन्यायाविरूद्धच्या अभूतपूर्व लढ्याची कथा!

Mahatma will be released in two parts namely, ‘Krantisurya' and 'Krantijyoti'. It will be produced under the production banner of Pratisad and huge productions and also produced by Ranjit Gugle and Anish Joag. It will hit the big screens in 2022.
