In a significant move, Saregama, under the leadership of RP-Sanjiv Goenka, is set to acquire 51.8% stakes in the digital entertainment company Pocket Aces Pictures Pvt Ltd. The deal, valued at Rs 174 crores, is an all-cash transaction. What's more, over the next 15 months, Saregama plans to acquire an additional 41% stakes at agreed-upon rates.

This strategic decision aims to bolster Saregama's dominance in the realm of new music in various Indian languages. Pocket Aces, known for its youth-oriented digital platforms including Filtercopy, Nutshell, Dice Media, and Gobble, boasts a vast content library of over 3000 pieces.

By integrating with Pocket Aces, Saregama gains a foothold in the 18 to 35 age group, allowing the music label to introduce its extensive music collection to a younger audience. Saregama's future plans include an increased focus on live shows and concerts, the launch of new versions of Carvaan, and collaborations with Pan-India films. This strategic move positions Saregama as a key player in the evolving landscape of digital entertainment.
