The 2018 film Stree started a trend of horror comedies like never before. It did unexpected great business and set the cash registers ringing. It starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. Now the makers are coming up with it’s prequel. Producer Dinesh Vijan is on the way to make Stree a franchise just like he has plans for Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya and Janhvi Kapoor’s Roohi. 

Shraddha Kapoor will reprise her role in Stree prequel and the story will show how she reached the village of Chanderi. Each character’s journey in the film will also be revealed. The horror comedy will be directed by Marathi filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar who is presently working on another film of the same genre titled Kakuda starring Sonakshi Sinha and Saqib Saleem. Stree prequel is expected to go on floors by August 2022, that is after Shraddha Kapoor wraps up Luv Ranjan’s next with Ranbir Kapoor.
