Makers of the upcoming Marathi period drama Sarsenapati Hambirrao have unveiled the first look of actress Shruti Marathe in the film. She will be essaying the role of Maharani Soyarabai in the film. The actress has previously entertained fans in films like Baji', 'Sangharsh Yatra', 'Bandh Nylon Che’. She shared her character poster on her social media page and wrote, “स्वराज्याच्या दोन्ही युवराजांना प्रेमानं वाढवलेली स्वराज्य माऊली! #सरसेनापतीहंबीरराव #SarsenapatiHambirrao #२७मे२०२२.”
Speaking about her role in Sarsenapati Hambirrao, Shruti said, “Soyarabai' is the most misunderstood character and people may say that she was very negative and grey shade character. If we look from her perspective, I think whatever she did was right and she did it for her son.” The film is based on the life of Maratha warrior Hansaji Mohite who was the military commander of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film also stars stars Gashmeer Mahajani, Raqesh Bapat and Snehal Tarde in pivotal roles. It will hit cinemas on 27th May 2022.
