No one thought the 2001 film Gadar Ek Prem Katha would do what it did at the box office. It nearly rewrote the career graphs as well as history for the two lead actors Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. Now its makers are coming back after nearly 2 decades with its sequel. The film will still talk about India-Pakistan issues but this time the Yamla Pagla Deewana actor will fight for his son’s safety. The film will be directed by its original director Anil Sharma and this time will also star his son Utkarsh. 

The Gadar 2 team has been working hard to put a script in place Since a long time and finally it has happened. The film will most likely go on floors this November 2021 and the pre-production work has already begun. While Sunny, Ameesha and Utkarsh are confirmed to play parts of parents and son, the makers are hunting for a new face to play the romantic interest of Utkarsh. Anil Sharma meanwhile is also making Apne 2 with Sunny, Bobby, Dharmendra and Karan Deol.
