Actor Varun Dhawan, reflecting on his inspirations in the film industry, recently said that he draws inspiration from some of the iconic roles which the Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has played onscreen.

Varun, talking about his character in ‘Baby John’, said that he drew references from megastar Amitabh Bachchan's cult film 'Hum' while preparing to play a dual role of a labourer and a father to a daughter. Having done films like 'Badlapur', 'October', and 'Bhediya' Varun said Bachchan continues to inspire the newer generation of actors.

Talking about the film Hum he said, 'I liked the film 'Hum' which featured Rajinikanth sir, Govinda ji, and was Directed by Mukul Anand who is one of my favourite directors. The way he made the film, it was ahead of its time, how he showed the past and present of Amit ji, which was great.'

Varun Dhawan further calls Amitabh Bachchan ‘The Bible of Acting’ and states about the inspirations he drew from the Megastar, "Amit ji has done so many iconic films and the new generation has so much to learn from him and should not forget the Bible. There's a shot in 'Hum' where he fights and then runs. I thought of that scene while doing the film ‘Baby John’ and took that as a reference.
