It was a year and a half of continuous cancer fighting treatment that Kadam was going through. The death of Marathi cinema and his followers due to his departure has left everyone in complete despair.

Vijay Kadam will be cremated this afternoon at the Andheri-Oshiwara crematorium. His passing is the end of all those successful years of his career in Marathi entertainment where he was cherished for his versatile spirit and incomparable talent.

Vijay Kadam's journey in Marathi film grew out in time but he was already a well-respected and acclaimed presence through his theatre work on stage in the 1980s and 1990s. His performances in plays such as "Tourtour," "Viccha Majhi Puri Kara," and "Pappa Sanga Kunache" established his name as the most loved in Marathi theatre. The last time he appeared on television was in the serial 'Ti Parat Aaliye'.
