Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra is making a comeback with an inspiring drama titled 12th Fail, featuring Vikrant Massey as Manoj, an aspiring IPS officer. The film's first trailer, released recently, offers a glimpse into Manoj's journey, starting from his setback in the 12th grade but resolutely restarting his pursuit of fulfilling his dreams and serving the nation.

'12th Fail' mirrors real-life struggles, drawing from the experiences of numerous students attempting the UPSC entrance exam. Much like Hrithik Roshan in 'Super 30' and Ranveer Singh in 'Gully Boy,' Vikrant undergoes a transformation with brownface makeup, depicting a characterless urban and more rooted in his surroundings.

Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, known for his iconic films like 'Parinda,' '1942: A Love Story,' and 'Mission Kashmir,' expressed his excitement about the project, stating, 'In today’s times, I wanted to tell a story of hope, a story of never giving up. '12th Fail' is all that and more. I laughed, cried, sang along, and had fun making this movie. I truly believe that this film will find a universal connection when it comes out in theatres.'

Chopra's last release, the Kashmir-set drama 'Shikara,' debuted just before the first Covid lockdown in 2020. With a track record of producing blockbusters like 'Munna Bhai MBBS' and '3 Idiots,' he aims to captivate audiences once again with '12th Fail.' The film is set to hit screens worldwide on October 27th, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, promising an emotional and motivational cinematic experience.
