Bollywood actor Ali Fazal got a lucky break in the Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots and hasn’t looked back since. He has not only captured Indian hearts, but amassed an international fan following too with his foreign films. The actor has now turned producer with his super talented actress girlfriend Richa Chadha. They own the production house ‘Pushing Buttons Studios’ together and coming out with their first film ‘Girls Will Be Girls’. The duo have even more reason to celebrate as the film has received the prestigious Aide aux cinemas du monde grant from France.

Ali expressed his excitement and said, “Richa and I are thrilled that, being new producers, we're making the correct choices for our first production. We are grateful to our French co-producers, Claire from Dolce Vita Films and Shuchi for their efforts in securing us this prestigious grant. It makes our maiden production an Indo-French one.”

Girls Will Be Girls is directed by Shuchi Talati who said, “When I got the news from our French producer Claire Chassagne, I just stared at my phone screen. Getting Aide six Cinémas du Monde for Girls Will Be Girls had been one of my goals for years while I was writing the script. I teared up and called our team to celebrate. So many incredible films have won it in the past, so this is a huge validation. And of course, the grant money is a huge boost for us to be able to make the film the way we want to, without any creative compromises.” The film was also the only Indian script selected at the Berlinale Script Station 2021. It’s story revolves around a mother-daughter relationship and was also screened at Gotham Week in New York this year.
