The winners of the country's most prestigious National Film Awards were announced on Thursday. The 69th edition of the awards, to be held in 2023, mainly features films released in 2021. The winners were announced through a press conference at the National Media Center in Delhi.

The Kashmir Files got this award

Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files has been chosen as the winner in the Nargis Dutt Award National Integration Best Film category at this special awards ceremony.

This time's jury for the National Film Awards 2023 includes Yatendra Mishra, Ketan Mehta, Neeraj Shekhar, Basant Sai and Nanu Bhasin. This award will be given this time in 31 feature, 24 non-feature and 3 category best writing categories.

Vicky Kaushal starrer Sardar Udham and R. Madhavan's Rocketry - The Nambi Effect have been selected as the Best Hindi Feature Film. 'Sardar Udham' released on Prime Video, while 'Rocketry - The Nambi Effect' hit the theatres.

Allu Arjun has been adjudged the Best Actor for the Telugu film Pushpa - The Rise, while the Best Actress award has been shared by Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon. Alia was adjudged Best Actress for Gangubai Kathiawadi and Kriti for Mimi. Ek Tha Gaon, directed by Shrishti Lakhera, has been selected as the Best Non-Feature Film. Filmmaker Nemil Shah's Gujarati film Dal Bhat has been selected as the Best Short Film (Fiction).

History of National Film Awards

The National Film Award is given to artists who have done excellent work in the field of art, culture, cinema and literature. It was started in the country after independence to encourage artists.
