Today marks the end of a year for A Thursday, directed by Behzad Khambata. On this day last year, Disney+ Hotstar released the movie. It featured Yami Gautam as Naina Jaiswal, a kind and caring nursery school teacher. After a routine of lovingly instructing the students, she suddenly takes 16 of them hostage, shocking everyone, including her husband Rohit (Karanvir Sharma). A meeting with India's Prime Minister, played by Dimple Kapadia, is one of Naina's demands. Without giving away any spoilers, A Thursday turns out to be a film that received praise from the OTT audience for its bold and timely social message.

On the one-year anniversary of the film, rumors of a sequel to A Thursday are circulating. Although no one associated with the film has confirmed the rumors, there are undoubtedly rumors about the sequel to the socially conscious thriller. "Through cinema, which is such a powerful medium, if you get a chance, if you get a script which in its own way is engaging you as an audience and at the same time talking to you just almost like one to one then they stand out and for me," Yami said in an interview last month about A Thursday. When I read A Thursday, it suddenly came to me and became more than just a movie; more than just a role, and it was one of my most challenging films. Neha Dhupia, Atul Kulkarni, Kalyanee Mulay, and Boloram Das also appeared in A Thursday, which was produced by RSVP and Blue Monkey Films.
