The poster of the Marathi historical drama Shivpratap Garudzep (2022) featured a glimpse of the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, played by Yatin Karyekar. The makers have now revealed the solo look of the actor in a dangerous pose. In the film, Dr Amol Kolhe plays the role of the founder of the Maratha Empire in the film directed by Karthik Rajaram Kendhe. Kolhe also produced the film and has two more films in the planned franchise as a trilogy.
Sharing his thoughts on playing Aurangzeb again, Karyekar said in a statement, “Marathi cinema has seen some excellent artistes play villainous characters over the years and they have received the love from the audience. Before this film, I played the role of Aurangzeb in a TV show too. But to play the same character on the big screen is a different kind of joy."
"It was important for the character of Aurangzeb to match up to the personality of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj," he added. "I have tried to showing the characteristics of Aurangzeb through this role. I hope the audience will appreciate my work.”
