Sidharth Malhotra led yet another patriotic movie Yodha has debuted in theaters today. The response to the movie is quite underwhelming from critics and audiences alike. The movie is directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. It is a crime thriller drama revolving around an aeroplane hijack. Let's have a look at the review of Yodha.
Meet the Stellar Cast of Yodha: Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, and More:
Released on 15th March Yodha features Sidharth Malhotra, Arun Katyal, Raashi Khanna, Disha Patani, Tanuj Virwani and Ankit Raj. The movie is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Production.
Introduction Of Yodha's Storyline Featuring Sidharth Malhotra As Arun Katyal:
The lead of the movie Sidharth Malhotra plays Arun Katyal who is a special forces commando who works for a special task force 'Yodha.' Arun is the son of Major Surender Katyal played by Ronit Roy. The inspiration behind Arun's love for the country comes from his father who was also the part of special task force Yodha. This special task force specialises in lethal rescue missions. Arun's wife Priyamvada Katyal played by Raashii Khanna is a Prime Minister's secretary in the movie.
The Action Sequences In Yodha Stands Out In The Movie:
The action in the movie starts when the special task force Yodha faces consequences after failing to save a nuclear scientist from a fatal plane hijack. The result of this failure comes out as suspension for task force Yodha as the mission fails because the Yodhas refuse to negotiate. The whole situation leads to a rift between Priyamvada and Arun which concludes into divorce.
The Plot And Climax Of Yodha Directed By Sagar Ombre and Pushkar Ojha:
The whole task force moves on with the suspension whereas Arun refuses to give up. His efforts finally succeed when he gets appointed as an air commando. Arun gets a chance to redeem himself after the failure of his mission with the special task force Yodha when he boards a plane that gets hijacked. Things take a turn when he gets accused of the hijack. The climax of the movie revolves around Arun proving his innocence and saving the passengers from the hijackers.
Action-packed Moments and Gripping Suspense Makes Yodha Stands Out With Lovely Songs:
The movie is a typical action drama filled with patriotism. The action sequences in the movie are enjoyable where Sidharth skillfully performs the action stunts. The part of the movie which is shot in the plane is done very well and feels very convincing while watching. The album Yodha is one of the key factors in the movie.
Emotional Depth or Lack In Yodha? Yodha's Connection with Audiences Fails:
Moving on to the negative factors of the movie which overshadows the positive ones. Yodha has many flaws in its writing and screenplay. The dialogue of Yodha majorly sounds cheesy and illogical with many cliche moments. The movie fails to connect emotionally with the audience.
Performance Of Yodha's Cast:
Talking about the star cast everyone does a decent job. Sidharth Malhotra looks smooth while performing action sequences but somewhere lacks the emotions required in the scene. Raashii Khanna is not seen on screen that much but whenever she appears brings her charm to the screen. Disha Patani is great in the character of a flight attendant. Sunny Hinduja plays the antagonist very well.
The writing and screenplay fail in Yodha which fails to make the movie up to the mark. Few things are overdone in the movie which makes it unbearable to watch. One and all Yodha crashes on the screens with negative elements overpowering the movie.
