Kapil Sharma, who tickled the boxes with his shows on the small screen, is returning to the big screen this year. Kapil will be back with Nandita Das-directed film Zwigato, whose release date has been fixed. Produced by Applause Entertainment, the film will hit the theaters on March 17. Nandita has also co-produced the film. Shahana Goswami is in the female lead role with Kapil in the film. It is written with this – Heart touching story of a food delivery rider. This is Kapil's third film in the lead role. He made his debut as a lead actor in Abbas Mustan's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. After this, he appeared in Firangi, which he also produced. The story of Zwigato depicts the struggle of a former floor manager of a factory in Bhubaneswar, who becomes jobless during the pandemic. To make ends meet, he starts working as a food delivery rider, but the game of ratings and incentives bothers him. To support the family, the wife also starts looking for employment.

Zwigato had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Apart from this, the film had its Asian premiere at the Busan International Film Festival and its Indian premiere at the Kerala International Film Festival. This is Nandita's third directorial film. After showing her acting prowess in films like Hajar Chaurasi Ki Maa, and 1947 Earth and Fire, Nandita Das made her directorial debut with the 2008 film Firaaq. Naseeruddin Shah, Deepti Naval, Paresh Rawal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shahana Goswami, Raghubir Yadav, and Sanjay Suri played important roles in this film.

In 2018, he made Manto, a biopic of Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the title role. With the kind of cast that was present in both Nandita's films, Zwigato with Kapil can be seen as an experiment. Kapil, who laughs and laughs from his comedy shows, and Nandita, who is known for serious filmmaking, have an interesting combination.
