As the series opens, Maya is on a mission to Mars from Earth when she is struck by a meteor and an unidentified life form is transported into the spacecraft. She meets Astro Guru (Shrivallabh Vyas), the world's oldest and smartest man, after a successful arrival on Mars. He is attempting to merge physics and philosophy while working as a scientist and astrologer. Then Maya departs for Io, the moon of Jupiter, where she will take over as the new warden of the solar system's most secure prison.
