Raj, played by Ranbir Kapoor is a handsome happy go lucky person who lives life by his own terms. He dates girls but due to his commitment phobia leaves them when they get too serious. He first meets Mahi, played by Minissha Lamba on a trip to Switzerland and she falls head over heels in love with him. However at the time of departing she realizes he was just fooling around with her and goes away broken hearted. Then he meets model Radhika, played by Bipasha Basu, who he has a live in relationship with. After living together for quite sometime she decides to take the relationship to the next level and proposes marriage to which Raj accepts and they decide to have a court marriage.

 

However, Raj never shows up for the marriage and Radhika is left devastated and heart broken once again. Raj instead takes off to Australia with his close friend. There he meets Gayatri, played by Deepika Padukone, who is fiercely independent. Raj falls in love with her and proposes but she refuses saying that she doesn’t believe in marriage and would rather be single. He then realizes that he has broken so many hearts before and now what it feels like to have his own heart broken. He goes back to India to apologise to Mahi and Radhika before meeting Gayatri again.

 

The movie is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra. The music is composed by Vishal-Shekhar and R.D Burman.
