Synopsis

Manakarnika is absolutely Kangana Ranaut driven film. From action sequence to her explosive dramatic scenes wherein she communicates her anger, fury and frustration at the British, it is simply Kangana Ranaut all the way. She has exceeded all expectations as one of the finest actress we have in Bollywood. Kangana is also a part of the directorial team for this film. Manakarnika a beautiful name may not be derived from the history pages, but is of a brave woman, riding a horse with a sword in her hand, head held high with a child strapped at her back. That’ s the Woman Power she portrays of the fierce Rani Laxmibai the legend who led her army to fight against the British and died at the age of 29 on the battlefield. Was she Manakarnika before she became the empress Rani Laxmibai the queen of Jhansi? Manakarnika is the Queen of Jhansi who celebrates womanhood. Kangana Ranaut brings life to her character with sheer intensity, shrewdness and fierceness that one could almost feel the vengeance she has against her enemy, the British. From the tender age to the young girl, each scene in the film is raging and gripping coupled with stunning visuals and tells you the story that is already held in high esteem on the historical and patriotism platform. We are not sure of the history and the liberties taken in this film but viewers and audience just need to sit back and enjoy, go with the flow and admire the power packed performance by Kangana Ranaut who brings fire to the screen with such captivating performance that you cannot take your eyes off her. Kangana as a director has done a splendid job to the film with flawless performance with the spotlight being focused only on her. However, it is disheartening to see some very good actors like Atul Kulkarni, Mohammed Zeesha Ayub and Danny Danzongpa saddled with roles that are not good enough for their kind of high caliber. Sidelined to the tilt is also Ankita Lokhande, one of the finest television actress who plays a very significant role in the film that of Jhalkari Bai one of the main commanders of Rani Laxmibai’s army but with Kangana Ranaut overpowering the entire film on her shoulders, gives very little scope for Ankita to bring out her best. though she has been brilliant in the film and more scenes could have been hers alone for the delight of the viewers. The film is doing exceptionally well at the Box office and has had a 130% growth from 8.75 cr on day one to 18.10 cr on day 2 earning 27 crore in merely two days … With loads of controversies that surround the film, the making of the film and the direction, this film has done wonders and is by far one of the best films in the historical age drama film. Take a bow Kangana Ranaut !!! Manikarnika :The Queen of Jhansi , directed by Krish and Kangana Ranaut and produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain and Nishant Pitti. The film scheduled its release on the 25th January 2019 on the eve of the Indian Republic Day.
