Ranvir aka Ronny, played by Saif Ali Khan runs his father’s business, while his younger brother Rajiv, played by Akshaye Khanna, is an alcoholic who lives a carefree life. Ronny is dating Sonia, played by Bipasha Basu but his personal assistant Sophia, played by Katrina Kaif also seems to like him. One day Rajiv comes home drunk and confesses to Ronny that he loves Sonia and wants to marry her. Ronny then breaks up with Sonia for his brother and Rajiv and her start dating. Rajiv bribes Sonia for a fake marriage where, once they kill Ronny they can inherit a huge insurance amount.
Meanwhile Sonia seduces Ronny pretending to be disturbed by her marriage. Rajiv and Sonia plan on killing Ronny by pushing him off a building. Now Sophia tells the officer RD, played by Anil Kapoor that she was married to Ronny and the insurance money belongs to her. However RD realizes she is lying and is actually married to Ranjiv. They plan to murder Sonia but Ronny who is shown to be alive comes and saves her.
Later Rajiv and Sophia get accidentally killed and Ronny collects his insurance money. He gives a generous amount of the share to officer RD and hope to not ever see him again in future. The movie is directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Ramesh S. Taurani and Kumar S. Taurani. The music is composed by Pritam.
