Singham (2011)

Bajirao Singham, played by Ajay Devgn is an honest and law abiding police officer from Shivgarh who will do anything within the law to protect his people. He is against any kind of injustice and mostly settles all smaller cases informally and thus is a crowd pleaser. Singham meanwhile meets his father’s friend Gautam Bhosle played by Sachin Khedekar and falls in love with his daughter Kavya, played by Kajal Aggarwal after a series of unpredictable and funny incidents. Life goes on in a peaceful and simple manner until he crosses paths with goon Jaikanth Shikre, played by Prakash Raj. Jaikant is asked to come to Shivgarh to sign a bail plea for a murder he has supposedly committed, but instead he sends one of his helpers to do the needful and this infuriates Singham. He demands that Jaikant himself come to the police station at all costs. An outraged and humiliated Jainkant comes with his squad of followers and communicates his displeasure adding that Singham has made a mistake by messing with him and will be finished. Singham gets transferred to Goa where he discovers an honest cop just like him has committed suicide on the false charges of bribe and Jaikant is the one responsible for it. He starts digging in deeper into the mystery and meets his wife Megha Kadam played by Sonali Kulkarni, where she divulges more details of her husband’s despair and the mental torture he was put through under Jaikant Shikre’s reins. The movie is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dhiraj Shah, Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Chaudhury with music composed by Ajay and Atul Gogavale.
