While Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is dealing with a lot personally since his son Aryan’s arrest, his professional life goes on. He has requested his team to carry on any commitments associated with his production house Red Chillies Entertainment. The company’s next offing will be an investigative crime thriller titled Bhakshak. The film is reportedly based on the 2018 Muzaffarpur shelter home case where dozens of orphan girls residing there were abused and tortured. 

Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar will play the leading lady of Bhakshak and essay the role of a journalist who investigates the heinous scam in Bihar. Reportedly Arjun Kapoor was to play the part and the film was to go on floors by March 2020. However, the pandemic happened and the film got delayed, resulting in Kapoor’s inability to commit dates and hence he walked out of the project. The makers finally changed the gender of the journalist and took Bhumi on board, making it a female centric film.
