National Award winning filmmaker Himansu Khatua is all set to bring Sprinter Dutee Chand’s story on the big screen soon. As per reports, the first draft of the movie’s script is ready and the team will begin working soon on the next. Although many production houses had approached the nation record champion for a biopic on her interesting journey, she refused them all. She thought that the Odia filmmaker Himanshu understood her emotions and struggles better than most and would portray her well on screen.

The film will not just be an entertaining one but also will be an inspiration to the younger generation of today. Dutee comes from a poor weaver’s family in Jaipur and has been a popular face all over the world as a sports inspiration and has won a lot of medals for India. She is also one of the first sports icon to be in a same sex relationship. Her life story is also documented in a book by Iti Samant. Himansu’s films like Sunya Swarupa and Kathantara have won National Awards previously.
