Well known Gujarati filmmaker Dr. Darshan Ashwin Trivedi who is currently busy working on his upcoming film ‘Lakiro’, has surprised fans by announcing yet another film. The film in question is titled Keri. It will star theatre Actress RJ Devaki in the lead. The film will also feature her mother Aditi Desai, who will essay the role of her reel mother too! 

Talking about the film, the writer-director said, “We mostly don’t talk about mother-daughter relationships too much. I have known Devaki and Aditiben for years. Devaki and I have been talking about working on a film together for the past few years. One evening we were chatting about 'Keri' at Devaki’s place. It was a concept I had discussed with Aditiben in the past. Devaki agreed to do the film and all of the rest was a beautiful coincidence. Everything fell in place so quickly. We are grateful to all the producers who have decided to back the project.” 

Lead actress Devaki shared, “Darshan and I knew each other as child actors. Today we are doing a film together. It’s a long pending association that’s finally coming to life. My mother Aditi and I started acting together when I was a toddler. I worked in numerous theater productions under her direction for nationally and internationally acclaimed projects. But we never had a juicy story like 'Keri' that will give us an opportunity to collaborate as actors with such meaty roles ( written by dear friends Ankit Gor and Darshan). The complexity of our strong mother-daughter bond is shown in this story with all of its intensity. I am looking forward to the mango season for the shoot to begin.” Keri is slated to go on floors in early 2022.
