Filmmaker Rohit Dhawan is all set to bring the Tamil superhit Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo to Bollywood. He has finally unveiled the name of the lead actor who will step in the shoes of superstar Allu Arjun, and it is Dhamaka actor Kartik Aaryan. The film is tentatively titled Shehzada and will go on floors in a couples of months from now. The makers are also looking to feature actress Kriti Sanon as his leading lady. The two have previously collaborated in the comedy Luka Chuppi

Talking about bringing the film to the Hindi speaking audiences, screenwriter Hussain Dalal said, “The screenplay is ready and the shoot should hopefully start in a few months. The reason I get on board to write out the remake of a film is its story, which I don’t fiddle with. The change that I bring about when I am working on it is to adapt the scenes to the actor playing the part. An actor’s own qualities and personality traits always lend themselves to the screenplay. For instance, Kartik Aaryan as an actor and as a person is different from Allu sir. That has to be factored in while writing the screenplay. The way a film is conceived in the South industries is also different from the way we do it in Bollywood. As a writer, I have had to work around that each time I have adapted a film from one language into another. For instance, Tiger’s personality and his action-star image were points of consideration while crafting Baaghi 2 from Kshanam. Allu Arjun has a certain swag and Kartik has his own kind of screen presence and style that we have to play with. An adaptation works best when you are clear about who you are adapting the story for, what you plan to say with it, and how.”
