There was much fanfare and thrill before the release of YRF’s film Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The film released yesterday in theaters and the response from the audiences has been surprisingly cold. In spite of heavy promotions and creating a curiosity about the film through various marketing gimmicks, the Ranveer Singh starrer film has failed to please fans.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar has in fact ended up becoming Ranveer Singh’s second film to have the lowest openings on day one making only 3.25 cr. His debut film Band Baaja Baaraat had opened to 0.95 cr. This will be the Padmaavat actor’s fifth film to have single digit collections. His previous films like Ladies Vs. Ricky Bahl, Lootera and Kill Dil have opened to collections of Rs. 4.74 cr, Rs. 5.15 cr and Rs. 6.53 cr respectively.

In the coming weeks, Jayeshbhai Jordaar’s business has been predicted to go lower. Word of mouth hasn’t been great either so things are unpredictable as far as this Divyang Thakkar directorial is concerned. Ranveer will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus and later in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
