We welcome you once again to the illustrious career journey of Amitabh Bachchan.  We bring to you one more interesting film Pyar Ki Kahani, a film released in 1971. Not an Amitabh Bachchan Rekha Love story but its about his film Pyar Ki Kahani, a romantic comedy film directed by Ravikant Nagaich.

This was Amitabh’s third film , starring opposite the gorgeous Tanuja. This was the first and the last film that Amitabh and Tanuja starred opposite each other and for some strange reasons they never came on the screen together after this film. Now the new trend is producing a remake of a South film and similarly, this film was also a remake of a 1964  Tamil film ‘Kai Kodutha Deivam.  But the film bombed and it was one of the consecutive flops of Amitabh’s films.

Initially when the film was planned, the film makers had actor Jeetendra in their mind but during that period there was also a rule in Bollywood that no actor or actress can sign more than 6 films at a time and Jeetendra who was riding high in success of his films was already working on his 6^th film, hence he had to let go of this film and in his place Amitabh Bachchan was signed in as the lead actor.

Pyar Ki Kahani Story Of Amitabh Bachchan

This film is about Ram Chand although well qualified is unable to find employment so he settles down to becoming a peon in an organization. Ram Chand’s role is the lead essayed by Amitabh Bachchan. One day he happens to meet a man by the name of Ravi Chand essayed by Anil Dhawan who is on the verge of committing suicide and Ram Chand stops him and invites him over to his place to live with him. After a few weeks Ravi Chand gets a post of Manager in Ram Chand’s company where he is working as a peon. After he gets the job he meets Lata a girl from his college with whom he falls in love..

Farida Jalal in the role as Lata and he marries her. Seeing Ravi get married, Ram’s parents also want him to get married and suggest him to get married to his fiancée Kusum essayed by Tanuja. Ram happily shows the photograph of himself and Tanuja to his friend Ravi and Kusum.    To his astonishment, Ravi advises him not to get married to Kusum.  Ram is in a dilemma and now wants to find out why Ravi has stopped him from getting married to Kusum .

He starts looking for the reason  and was shocked to know Ravi and Kusum were once in a relationship and were in love and finds about Kusum’s reputation. Though Amitabh Bachchan plays as the hero, this film did not do well and was one more flop added to his list of unsuccessful films and his struggle continued in the film industry

In the film music is rendered by R.D Burman and the playback is by Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar. So friends this film was Amitabh Bachchan’s third film in his long filmy career and we will bring out more such stories so do stay on as we bring you many more interesting films from the filmography.
