OTT deal for Saif Ali Khan and Siddharth Anand’s project

Siddharth Anand is known for films like ‘War‘ and ‘Pathaan‘, but 16 years ago he started his career as a director with the film ‘Salaam Namaste‘ opposite Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. He then made ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum‘, which proved unsuccessful at the box office. It was only a few months ago that news broke that Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan have come together once again for an action thriller. Saif will be working on a web project produced through Siddharth Anand’s production house.

Now there is a fresh update on the project which claims that the upcoming untitled film has already been sold to Netflix for Rs 60 crore. However, there is no official confirmation on this yet. As per reports, Marflix Production has struck a good deal with the digital platform.

As per the reports, Siddharth Anand is in high demand after giving ‘War‘ and ‘Pathaan‘ in a short span of time. With Marflix they aim to make the biggest action movies across all platforms and Saif Ali Khan’s yet untitled film for the digital world is a step in that direction. He has signed a good deal with Netflix as the film has been sold to digital players for Rs 60 crore. The deal has been done in such a way that it is beneficial to all the stakeholders.

The action thriller will be directed by Robbie Grewal, who last directed the John Abraham starrer ‘RAW‘. Siddharth and Robbie have been friends for a long time. The film is expected to go on floors soon and release next year.

Currently Siddharth is the busiest filmmaker. He is completing ‘Fighter‘ with Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, while also featuring in Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan‘s ‘Tiger Vs Pathaan‘. He also features in Sujoy Ghosh‘s film alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. While Saif was last seen in the role of Lankesh in ‘Adipurush‘. Saif is currently holidaying in Italy and will soon get busy with his South debut film starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor.
