Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has recently addressed the emerging issue of gender representation in several Hindi films and has emphasised the necessity for more recognition and roles for the female artists of the industry.

Hansal Mehta took his X(Formerly Twitter) to express his concern on the topic of women's recognition in different Hindi films. He wrote a long and estranged note which said that 'Women in Hindi cinema deserve more recognition and more importantly better roles and this isn't about the social media engagement, box office stats or any kind of PR-driven stardom, but its about the craft, presence and the exceptional ability to break through the so-called system of industry which prioritizes the glamour over natural substance.'

Further, he appreciated the various emerging and talented actresses such as Triptii Dimri for her impactful acting in films such as 'Bulbbul' and 'Qala' which signified her potential to become the next megastar. He also recognized Sharvari Wagh's effortless screen presence and Ananya Panday's evolving class, especially in projects such as 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan' and 'CTRL'.

Moreover, he appreciated Medha Shankar and Pratibha Ranta for their elegant performances in 12th Fail and Laapataa Ladies respectively.
