Explosive trailer release of ‘Trial Period’, Manav Kaul becomes ‘hired father’ for Genelia’s son

The trailer of Genelia Deshmukh and Manav Kaul‘s upcoming film ‘Trial Period‘ is out, giving a glimpse of an offbeat family setup. The story revolves around the innocent demand of a child, who expresses his desire to have a father to his mother. In the film, Genelia plays a single mother ‘Ana’ and Manav plays the role of a man who is appointed as a father figure for 30 days.

Directed by Aleya Sen, the film also stars Shakti Kapoor, Sheeba Chaddha, Gajraj Rao and Zidane Braz in pivotal roles. The story depicts the ups and downs, mismatched arrangements and the emotions of a child searching for a father figure in his life.

Talking about her role and the story, Genelia said in a statement, “I am at that point in my career where I choose a film which is about quality over quantity. When director Aleya Sen offered ‘Trial Period’ to me and the story was about a mother and the different relationships of that one woman. It is about a single female mother finding her love story, which is different from college love stories and it is exactly that. This got me excited to play this role.

Genelia further said that I am excited to premiere the film on Jio Cinema, where the viewership is high and the audience is suitable for the film. The ‘Trial Period‘ family has made this film with a lot of love and we hope our honest efforts will be appreciated by the audience. Whereas, Manav praises the sensitivity with which the story has been told and promises that each character presents a different perspective to the audience.

Manav said that the ‘Trial Period‘ is special in all things. The film is an emotional rollercoaster in its treatment. Plus working with such incredibly talented actors and the Chrome Pictures team has been a rewarding journey for me. All of us were personally invested in the film and each character in it will leave you with a different perspective. Therein lies the beauty of Aleya Sen‘s abilities as a director. After completing the film, my mother also wrote an emotional note, which was really overwhelming. The series will stream on Jio Cinema from 21st July.
