Paresh Rawal’s film ‘The Storyteller’ to be published at London Indian Film Festival

Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain starrer 'The Storyteller' has been given the opening film status by the London Indian Film Festival. Director Anant Mahadevan is very happy with this.

Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain starrer film ‘The Storyteller‘ based on Satyajit Ray‘s short story ‘Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro’ is all set to open the London Indian Film Festival at BFI Southbank in London. Earlier the film has represented India at prestigious film festivals like Busan Film Festival, International Film Festival of Kerala and International Film Festival of India.

Director Anant Mahadevan expressed happiness
Director Ananth Mahadevan is elated that the film has made it to the London Indian Film Festival at BFI Southbank. The director expressed his happiness that ‘The Storyteller’ already acclaimed at Busan, Palm Springs, IFFI and IFFK has emerged as a fitting tribute to the master Satyajit Ray on the occasion of his birth centenary.

Ananth Mahadevan further added, “It is a matter of pride and satisfaction that London Indian Film Festival, Europe’s largest indie festival has given it the status of opening film. Based on an original story by Ray, The Storyteller highlights the subtle touch of the master and is reminiscent of an era of pure cinema.’ The festival will open on June 22 with ‘The Storyteller’.

Story of ‘The Storyteller’
‘The Storyteller; Speaking of, it tells the story of a wealthy businessman who hires a storyteller to cure his insomnia. However, after this the story becomes more complicated as new twists keep on adding to it. The original Bengali short story ‘Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro‘ is one of a series of stories written by Satyajit Ray based on the character Tarini Khuro created by him. Apart from Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain, the film also stars Tannishtha Chatterjee, Jayesh More and Revathi in key roles.
