Shekhar Kapur told that the name of the sequel will be ‘Masoom… The New Generation‘. Apart from this, he also discussed about the theme of the film. Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi were seen in the lead roles in the film Masoom directed by Shekhar Kapur. The film was based on the novel ‘Man, Woman and Child’ by Eric Segal.

The film ‘Masoom’ depicts the story of Indu (Shabana Azmi) and DK (Naseeruddin), who live in Delhi with their two daughters, Pinky and Minnie. Meanwhile, DK gets the news that he also has a son, Rahul, from his earlier affair. The peace of DK and his happy family is disturbed when Rahul arrives, as DK brings Rahul to his home in Delhi. Jugal Hansraj, Aradhana and Urmila Matondkar played the roles of child artists in the film. The film was well received by the audience and the film won many awards as well.
