S. Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning (2015. Tamannaah thanks Karan Johar for becoming a part of Baahubali. She says with Karan Johar on board the movie got tremendous publicity and the movie won a pan India applause making Tamannaah a star national wide. Tamannaah regards Baahubali her career’s milestone movies because it gave her pan India reach. In an interview she admitted, “What my Bollywood movies could not give me I got it from the Hindi version of Baahubali because it did more business than the original in Telugu.” The actress quipped that she is now happy that her dream of working in Bollywood has been fulfilled . The mega success of Baahubali has landed her with lot of offers in Bollywood. But now Tamannaah is being choosy and wants to be careful in selecting the role and the film. She admits she does not want to repeat the mistake again and is looking forward to a continued outing in Bollywood. Tamannaah is anticipating Baahubali -II to release soon and hit the bull’s eye as Part –I and help her consolidate her position in Bollywood.
Tamannaah always wanted to be an actress Tamannaah has been born and brought up in Mumbai. She did her formal education from Manecji Cooper Educational Trust School Juhu. Since childhood she was interested in acting and would watch almost one movie a day. Usually she saw Hollywood movies but she had keen desire to become a Bollywood actress. She was active in drama at her school and even attended Mumbai’s prestigious Prithvi Theatre where she studied and practiced acting. Tamannaah got her first break in film at the age of 13 On her Annual Day at school Tamannaah performed a play which was widely appreciated by the audience. She was only 13 year old. She was noticed by film director Shabah Shamsi, who was sitting in the audience. He approached Tamannaah’s parents and offered her a break in his film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra produced by Bollywood’s famous filmmaker Salim, who had made many films like Aamir Khan’s Baazi, Ajay Devgn’s Jigar, Dharmendra’s Batwara etc. His father agreed and Tamannaah at the tender age of 13 year played a young 16 year girl. Tamannaah had to sacrifice her studies for her passion No sooner her debut Hindi Chand Sa Roshan Chehra was released, she was signed by Telugu film director Dasarath in his Telugu film Sri. Soon she was flooded with offers in South as her film Sri was hit. Due to her assignments down South she had great difficulty in completing her education. Nevertheless she passed Class XII and then focused herself in her film career. She repents losing education but she claims in film industry no degree holds good. She says in film industry the only criteria that works is your histrionics and the box-office success.
Tamannaah has been shattered twice in relationship Tamannaah has maintained a strict secrecy about her relationship. However rumor mills allege she has been twice shattered in relationship and has lost faith in maintaining relationship. Her first relation ended when her first boyfriend cheated her. Tamannaah was so angry with him that she never disclosed his identity. Her second relation is rumored to be with Cricket Star Virat Kohli. The two came close when they were shooting Celkon mobile advertisement in 2012. However after dating for few years they parted. Ever since Tamannaah has focused just on her career and kept away from getting into any relationship. She says right now marriage is not on her cards as she has to establish herself in Film industry. Regarding marriage she says she would marry someone who is honest and one who really loves her and not her status.
Tamannaa was first seen in the music video Lafzom mein keh na saku…… Though Tamanaa signed her first film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra in 2005 but she was first seen in a video film song Lafzom mein keh na saku.. sung by Abhijeet Sawant, the first Indian Idol’s winner. Incidentally the video was first released hence prior to her debut film she first appeared in the video song. Tamannaah’s journey in South Films Tamannaah made her first appearance in South films in a character role as the film heroine’s friend in Tamil film Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (2003). In 2005 she did her first lead heroine role in Telugu film Sri. Later her performance in Tamil film Kedi (2006) won her rave reviews. Further as college student in Sekhar Kammula's Happy Days and Balaji Sakthivel's Kalloori, she became a heartthrob of youngsters. Both the films were commercially successful and she became a star in both Tamil and Telugu film industry. In 2009 Tamannaah proved she is no glamour doll by fetching Best Actress – Telugu and Best Actress – Tamil nomination at Filmfare Award for brilliant performances in Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam (Telugu) and Kanden Kadhalai (Tamil). Again in 2010 she won Filmfare nomination for her Tamil Film Paiyaa and Telugu film 100% Love. Though Tamannaah has still not been able to win Filmfare Award yet each year she wins a nomination. She fetched another nomination for brave warrior princess in S. S. Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning (2015). Her other commercially successful films include Bengal Tiger (2015) and Oopiri (2016). Tamannaah’s journey in Bollywood Interestingly she made her debut in Bollywood with an aptly titled film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra (2005) as she is truly gifted with a Chand Sa Roshan Chehra but alas the film was poorly promoted and failed miserably at the box-office. At the same time she made her debut in Telugu cinema with Sri (2005) the film was hit and Tamannaah became a celebrity down South. Eight years later when Tamannaah had become the No.1 actress down South, Bollywood filmmaker Sajid Khan brought her back in Bollywood with Himmatwala (2013). It may be remembered Bollywood No.1 actress Sridevi had made her debut with a flop Solva Sawan (1978) and then overtook Bollywood with second comeback film Himmatwala in 1983. Sajid Khan was perhaps making a similar gamble but it failed to click. Though Tamannaah has worked with top Bollywood actors like Ajay Devgn (Himmatwala), Saif Ali Khan (Humshakal), Akshay Kumar (Entertainment), and Ranveer Singh in Rohit Shetty’s short film Ranveer Shing Returns etc but she is still not able to make her mark that she commands down South but she is confident of making her presence in Bollywood. The actress would soon be seen opposite John Abraham Chor Nikalke Bhaga and Abhnetri opposite Prabhu Deva and Sonu Sood.
