Kapil Sharma known and famous for The Kapil Sharma Show where he is the host is a stand up comedian, television presenter , an actor and a producer.   He also showcased and hosted television comedy shows like the Comedy Nights with Kapil and Family Time with Kapil. 

Kapil Sharma had risen to fame after winning at the comedy. show , The Great Indian Laugter Challenge in 2007 in which he won the cash prize of Rs 10 lakhs.   He had prior to this show had worked in a Punjabi show called the Hasde Hasande Ravo on MH One Channel.

He later participated in Comedy Circus aired on Sony TV and he went on to win six seasons of the show. He later hosted the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6  and another comedy show called the Chhote Miyan.  Kapil was the contestant in the show Ustaadon Ka Ustaad in the year 2008 and in 2013 Kapil launched the Comedy Nights with Kapil,  his own comedy show under his banner K9 Productions on Colours.

 And went on to host many other dance reality shows.

Actor Veteran Amol Palekar felicitated Kapil Sharma at the CNN-IBN Indian of the year award show in 2013.  

During the Lok Sabha Elections in 2013, Delhi Election Commission appointed him as the Brand Ambassador.

Kapil Sharma hosted the 60th Filmfare Awards with Karan Johar in 2015. He presented the fourth session of Celebrity Cricket League in 2014 and appeared in the opening episode of the Indian Television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati as the guest and has appeared in shows like the Anupam Kher Show and the Koffee with Karan in 2017.

Kapil’s other lesser known films are Bhaynao Ko Samjho , where he plays the role of Thakur’s son and the film was directed by Sunil Pal. He had a special appearance in the film.

In ABCD, by Remo D’Souza in 2010, he plays himself as the celebrity Kapil Sharma in a special appearance.

In 2017 he played the role of Manga in the film Firangi by Rajiv Dhingra and in 2018, he produced the film Son of Manjeet Singh and also had a small special appearance role in the film , directed by Vikram Grover.

Kapil Sharma is a much famous personality in the Bollywood circles due to his own chat comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma . But he made his official debut as a lead role in the Bollywood film industry with the film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon , a romantic comedy film directed by Abbas Mustan and he starred opposite four actresses, Elli Avram, Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi and Sai Lokur. The film released on September 25th 2015 received mix reviews from the critic point of view but had done a record break on its first day for a debutant actor like him.

After the Colour’s contract for Comedy Nights with Kapil came to an end, he signed the contract with Sony TV for the Kapil Sharma Show which aired last on in 2016 January and restarted with its new season in December 2018.
