her modelling assignments for various campaigns which gave her an exposure to the entertainment industry. She became famous for her ad as the Liril Girl. Her charming looks helped her get a role in Aryan’s video which added to her popularity from the Liril girl and she was highly recommended in the film Shararat in 2002.  Then began her career in the films .

bsp;Abhishek Bachchan. Her beautiful face and figure were noticed and she soon got an offer for a role in the historical drama Ashoka the Great(2001) in which she made her debut with Shah Rukh Khan himself, although the latter was released a year before the former.

Thereafter Hrishitaa appeared in films like the musical film, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar in 2002, followed by Control in 2003, along with the films Haasil that was released in the same year.  In 2004 she starred in A Joint Effort and in 2006 in the film Youthful Joyride,   Jigyaasa , Aakahee.    She also starred in Bengali and Kannada language films . During the time she changed her spelling by adding an a to her name. 

Hrishitaa is known to have co-starred with many popular actors like Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Emraan Hashmi, Vivek Oberoi, Jimmy Sheirgill, Shah Rukh Khan and Madhavan to name a few .

In 2007 she co-starred in the film Friends Forever opposite Ashmit Patel.
