Biography

Salman is referred to as ‘The Tiger Of Bollywood’, ‘Blockbuster Khan’ and ‘Box Office King’ and is also called Bhajan or Sallu by his fans. Salman initially made his acting debut in the film Biwi ho Toh Aisi in 1988 but he rose to stardom and got fame from Sooraj Barjatya’s 1989 Maine Pyaar Kiya which was a superhit film. The movie has been dubbed in various languages too. He has appeared in Saajan with Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit which was a success. In 1994 he starred in the multi-starrer movie Hum Aapke Hain Koun which was a major success at the Box office and is considered one of the Top films of Bollywood with worldwide reach. He then appeared in Rakesh Roshan’s Karan Arjun along with Shahrukh Khan. In 1998, he was cast in the romantic comedy Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai with Kajol and acted in a cameo role in Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and won the award for best actor in a supporting role. In 1999, he appeared in Biwi no. 1, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and all these films received box-office success. In 2000, he appeared in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega and Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. In 2002, he did Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam. His other films were Tere Naam 2003, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2004, No Entry 2005, Partner 2007. In 2009, he appeared in Wanted directed by Prabhu Deva which was a major box office success again. Khan achieved greater stardom in the 2010s by playing the lead role in several successful action films, including Dabangg(2010), Bodyguard(2011), Ek Tha Tiger(2012), Kick(2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan(2015) and Sultan(2016) all rank among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time.

Career & Achievements

Salman Khan had hosted the game show Dus Ka Dam which aired on Sony TV. He has been hosting Bigg Boss since season 4 which is one of the highest-rated shows. Salman has endorsed various brands including Campa Cola, Limca Soft Drink, Hero Honda Bike, Thumps up, Mountain Dew, Wheel, Red Tape shoes, Relaxo Hawaii, Chloromint, Ranbaxy Volini, Revital, Dixcy Scott Innerwear, Sangini a jewellery brand, Britannia’s Tiger biscuits Salman Khan is a founder of his NGO called the Being Human which is a charitable trust established in 2007 and is working towards a cause for education and healthcare for the Underprivileged. He has over 25000 followers on Social Media Considered as one of the biggest Actors of the Film Industry. Salman Khan is said to be an artist and loves painting occasionally. He is one of the few actors who has been photographed maximum and has his wax figures at Madame Tussauds. Salman has been a mentor to many actors such as Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Kapoor, and Pulkit Samrat. He motivated Arjun to lose weight to become an actor. He had recommended Himesh Reshammiya and Sajid Wajid for music production. He had cast Zarine Khan in the 2010 film, Veer and motivated her to lose weight for the role. He also mentored Sooraj Pancholi, son of Aditya Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, daughter of Suniel Shetty, also cast them in his production movie Hero. Salman is an Artist, A super Star and a Philanthropist and a humanitarian. He has a non-profit organisation called Being Human which works as a charity.
